As I continue my journey through the book ceremony I continue to struggle with the plot and what is going on. When in class it is easy to discuss one small thing that happened but it's difficult to see how thar part fits into the entire book. Because the book is all over the place, switching from present to past to one person's mind to another person's mind it's very confusing. I can't really piece together all the pieces of the puzzle and understand how it's relevant. I hope it will become easier as I progress through the book.

Portrayals and Puzzles
As we continue to discuss the book Ceremony it is important to relate the book to real life and to do that we watched a documentary about how the film industry has inaccurately portrayed the Native American culture. This sparked my curiosity as to what other groups have been wronged by cinema. I found that Hollywood will do anything they need to make a film a big hit. It is evident that Hollywood has many times created romantic relationships in historical plots where no such relationship existed because the audience appeals to a romance story. In addition, many WWII soldiers were inaccurately painted by films in addition to their stories. It's important to keep in mind fact and keep it separate from fiction, that way stereotypes don't form. In the book Ceremony, many Native American characteristics are displayed through Tayo.
